The hotel where I stayed for two night, the Auberge des Vergers is located in the Les Vergers eco-district in Meyrin, the municipality outside of Geneva.

This eco-district includes 1350 dwellings spread over 30 buildings. Built on a plot of about 16 hectares, it accommodates about 3,000 inhabitants and 10,000 m2 of commercial space. The district is based on the three pillars of sustainable development: social solidarity, environmental responsibility and economic efficiency and was finalized in 2023.
If you would like some more information about this eco-district, I translated a page from the website here.

What did I think about the Auberge des Vergers? I chose it because of its proximity to CERN (about a 15 minute walk). My room was nice and clean, but there were some things that were impractical (probably because it wasn’t designed to be a hotel room). For example, the only accessible power outlet is located on the opposite side of the room, away from the beds. Towels were located by the power outlet, away from the bathroom. If you are into watching TV, there is none. The hotel is a bit far from the city center, but is close to public transportation. Would I stay here again? Maybe, the cost was a little more reasonable, than downtown.
Today I make my way to the Nash Suites. I picked this hotel because it is conveniently located to the airport for my early morning flight tomorrow.
One thing to mention (if I didn’t before) is that if you are staying at a hotel in Geneva, you get a free transport card good on buses, trams, shuttle boats, and trains, for the duration of your stay. You don’t even have to show it to anyone, you just get on the public transportation. The only time you may have to show it is if there is a ticket inspection, which has not happened for me.
Waiting for the #57 bus to the airport (and then a quick walk to the Nash Suites). It’s too early to check-in, but I should be able to check my bag.
Got my bag checked and then headed towards the city center on a random bus and ended up near the UN building.

The Broken Chair, across from the UN Building, was originally conceived by Handicap International with the aim of urging nations to ban anti-personnel mines (in 1997) and cluster munitions (in 2008)
Took the #20 towards Veyrier, which is outside of Geneva near the French border.

Stayed on the #20 and returned back to the city center. Stopped at the train terminal and walked around.

Thought it was going to be rainy today, but the sun came out and turn out to be a beautiful day!
Return back to the Nash Suites for check-in. Rooms are really nice. Here is a quick walkthrough.
Tonight is my last night of my vacation. 😢

I hope you had a great time! I can’t wait to hear all about it. 🙂
Thanks! It’s been a blast! I think I’m ready to come home?!
