Leaving Amsterdam today for London Luton Airport. Taking the train from the Sloterdijk station to Schiphol Amsterdam Airport. Yes, this time, I did purchase a ticket! This was my first time flying a European budget airline (easyJet Airbus A319/320) and the reason why I have a backpack that fits under the seat – so I don’t have to check a bag. I am wearing my backpack as I am boarding the plane and nobody asked about the size of it. There is no jet way – just walk out to the runway and get on the plane. They have two entrances at the front and back of the plane. I am in the back. Starting to rain as I am walking to the plane – first rain during my stay in Amsterdam.

Leave plenty of time to go through the Schiphol Amsterdam Airport (took me about 1-1/2 hours). Same time frames as larger airports in Europe. There are plenty of queues to go through:
- Boarding pass scan
- Escalator to security
- Security
- Passport Control
- Gate
When flying out of Schiphol, there is an option to reserve a specific time slot for security check, however it was not marked and did not get the opportunity to utilize it. Saw the sign for it after I got at the end of the security checkpoint.
Tip: Don’t take photos of the guys walking around with automatic weapons – they don’t like their picture taken. They’ll use your phone as target practice (joking, they’ll firmly command you to delete the photos)!

Lol I thought I was gonna miss my flight going through that airport. Felt like the whole process was very slow. I had to ask them if they could scan my bag before others because my gate was closing and i was in pure panic mode. There was like 4 of them just standing around aswell which bothered me a bit 😆 turns out my flight was delayed, so I panicked for nothing.
