Up at 7 am to get packed and to catch my flight from Porto to the Paris Orly airport (ORY). Walked about 10 minutes to the Trindade metro station to take the E line to the airport. Google doesn’t show a good route.
The Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport (OPO) is a beautiful airport! Very modern looking. The metro line drops you right there and not far to walk. Easy to navigate.

Similar to London Heathrow (LHR), the terminals are at one end and the shopping is at the other end. After you pass through security, they funnel everyone through duty-free shopping.

If you didn’t get the chance for any duty-free purchases at the airport, they will sell on the airplane about 2/3 of the way through the flight. No free water or snacks on these budget airlines!
Paris Orly Airport
Arrived at the Paris Orly Airport (ORY) and when we got off the plane, they had a large shuttle bus waiting for us. I figured the reason was that our arriving terminal was located in another area of the airport. Okay, this is the most bizarre thing I have seen at an airport. The bus departs, goes about 50 feet, and then turns around and drops us off on the other side of the street – across from where we boarded the bus. I guess they don’t want flocks of passengers loose in the street. The street wasn’t even busy and there was no median.
My goal is to get from the Paris Orly Airport to the Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG), where I’ll be flying out tomorrow. I booked a hotel for tonight close to the airport.
Found the M14 metro line into Paris. They had it prominently displayed on the airport floor as a line that you can follow. It must be fairly new because Google Maps wanted me to take the Magical Shuttle to Paris Disneyland and then from the Disneyland terminal to the Charles de Gaulle Airport. No way! I had accidentally searched Apple Maps and they had the M14 route listed. Took the M14 to the Châtelet stop and then transferred to the RER B line, which goes to the Charles de Gaulle Airport. The total cost between airports was €12.30.
Charles de Gaulle Airport
Was going to walk to the hotel from the airport, but I couldn’t figure out how to get out of the airport. Took a Bolt for €13.20. Once at the hotel, I saw a walkway to the airport and you can catch an airport shuttle from there.
citizenM Hotel
This is a really unique, modern, and chic hotel! You have an iPad in the room to control the mood lighting, curtains, and media. Very small room, but has everything you need. Perfect for an airport overnight.

This hotel is a nice way to wind down the night.
