Day 12 – Back to United States

Charles de Gaulle

Checked out of citizenM hotel. The entrance to the airport was right across the street. Very easy! Charles de Gaulle airport is pretty big, but getting to your terminal is well marked. Of course after security is the duty-free shopping before going through border control.

Automated Border Control

Border control uses facial recognition machines to get you through. My first time didn’t work and I was directed to another machine. Got my passport stamped and now waiting at my gate.

Now for a 9 hour and 23 minute flight to Dallas…

Dallas-Fort Worth

Had a good flight from Paris. Watched five movies and they kept us well fed!

After landing, there was a 15 minute wait to get through customs. Customs didn’t even look at my passport, going through was all done with facial recognition.

After customs, there was 30 minutes to get through general security. They were letting people in two at a time, abreast, past a security dog, that would circle us as we passed by. Didn’t need to take shoes off and somehow I was able to get through all security since Portugal without having to go through the millimeter wave scanner, just the regular metal detectors.

To stretch my legs after the long flight, I walked the DFW concourses and didn’t take the SkyLink. Now waiting for my flight to Tucson…

Sunset while leaving DFW

Tucson, Arizona

Arrived home with no issues. It’s surreal that I was in Paris and now I am in Arizona. It was a great trip!

  1. So cool!! I know that feeling of surrealness, flying back to Tucson from Bali, Indonesia was like flying to a totally different universe! Glad you didn’t have too hard of a time getting through customs, too 😀

    1. Hi Tayler! Thanks for checking out my blog! I didn’t know you went to Bali?! It’s got to be amazing there! I bet you had a bit of jet lag! 😉
