After exploring Philadelphia, I have boarded my flight to Paris. Unfortunately I had to cancel my overnight stay in Paris and modify my Eurostar rail from Paris to Amsterdam. Lost money, but that’s what will happen – plans don’t always work out. There is a fine line between trying to plan everything ahead and being spontaneous.
Didn’t get much sleep on the aisle seat of my plane. Too tall for the seat and people and carts keep bumping me. Arrived at the Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) early morning and took the B line to the Gare du Nord train station. Had to wait around for awhile for my Eurostar departure and the temperature is about 50 F / 20 C degrees and the station is open air and I didn’t pack a jacket because of space constraints. Finally board the train at 12:22 PM and arrive at Amsterdam Centraal at 3:53 PM. No issues on the Eurostar – fast and very efficient!
Took the train from Amsterdam Centraal to the Sloterdijk station (not too far) and then a 3 minute walk to the Train Lodge – another stay at my very first hostel.
All checked in at the Train Lodge and it’s going to be an early evening. Exhausted.
