Day 2 – Geneva

After leaving passport control and getting outside of the airport, I find my hotel shuttle to the B&B HOTEL Geneva Airport. It’s too early to check in, but I can check my bags.

After being on a flight for 7.5 hours, it’s time to stretch the legs, so I start walking towards downtown Geneva. My goals is to find an ATM. One of my pet peeves are ATMs with surcharges and currency mark-ups. The UBS ATM at the airport wanted to add a 5% surcharge. And forgot all the Euronet ATMs in the baggage claim area – they are worse. Best option is to find an ATM that’s connected with the postal service. I find a Postomat ATM within an indoor mall. No surcharge and an exact currency conversion.

What’s so cool about Geneva is that the tourism board gives the hotels free vouchers for public transportation. After walking about an hour, I catch the bus to get me more towards the city center. One Geneva’s most famous landmarks is the Jet d’Eau de Genève. I see it when I get off the bus and walk towards it.

Looks like there is a way to get closer! Must get closer!

I am going to make my way back to the hotel and finally get a bit of sleep.

I debate whether to go out for food or just continue chilling. I opt for chilling and dine on some Builder bars I brought with me.

Ending my evening with The Bourne Ultimatum in French.

  1. Scott! I’m finally looking at these photos and comments. First off’, the plane wheel picture looks so futuristic. Is that the airport?
